This policy covers outdooremergencyrescue.com and the inquiries and bookings that come through it. Our Australian operation is a separate business with its own policy at outdooremergencytraining.com.au.
Who we are
Outdoor Emergency Rescue Training delivers swiftwater rescue and wilderness medicine courses in the United States. We run courses on the Payette River in Idaho from April through September, and deliver training on site to agencies nationwide. Courses are taught by Tren Long.
You can reach us at tren@outdooremergencyrescue.com or (208) 571-7199.
What we collect
When you send an inquiry through our form, we collect your name, your agency or organization, your role or rank, your email address and phone number, the state you are in, the type of team you work with, the course you are asking about, how many people need training, your preferred timeframe, and anything you choose to tell us about your water or your situation.
If you email or call us, we keep what you send so we can answer you.
When you visit this site we collect ordinary analytics: which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, the device and browser used, and how you arrived. This is not tied to your name.
We do not take payment on this website and we do not collect card details here.
Why we collect it
To answer your inquiry, quote a course, arrange dates and logistics, pitch the training at the right level for your team, and keep a record of who has trained with us so certification can be confirmed later.
Who we share it with
Jotform hosts our inquiry form, so submissions are stored on their systems.
Google provides our website analytics and search reporting.
SiteGround hosts this website.
Cascade Raft & Kayak, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. Payette River courses are currently hosted at and booked through Cascade, so if you book one of those courses your booking details go to them.
Rescue 3 International, where certification is issued, receives the details needed to produce your certificate.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Where your information goes
Tren Long works from Australia between October and March, so inquiry and course records are accessed from there during those months. Our service providers may also store data on servers outside the United States.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to a course are kept for up to two years. Course and certification records are kept for as long as we need them to verify your certification, and longer where a certifying body requires it. Analytics data is held by Google on their own schedule.
Keeping it secure
This site runs over HTTPS. Access to inquiry and course records is limited to Tren Long. No system is completely secure, and if something happens that affects your information we will tell you.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics sets cookies so we can count visits and see how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on. Blocking them will not stop you using the site.
Testimonials
We sometimes quote students and agencies on this site. We ask before we do, and we will take a quote down on request.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Email tren@outdooremergencyrescue.com and ask. We will tell you what we hold, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it, except where we need to keep a certification record. Depending on the state you live in, you may have further rights under local privacy law, and we will honor those.
Children
This training is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Where a minor attends a course with a parent or guardian’s consent, we collect only what the course requires and hold it on the same terms as everything else.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we do changes.
